How to Use the Tennis Trader Board (Free Betfair Tool)

The board exists because most live tennis scoreboards are built for fans. This one is built for Betfair traders who need point-by-point state, server information, break-point alerts and a quick read on model vs market — without switching between three tabs.

This guide walks through every control so you get the most out of it from day one.

What the board shows

Each match card shows:

• Player names and current score — sets, current game score (games won in the set), points within the current game
• Who is serving — marked on the card so you always know which player is at risk of a break
• Score alert badge — highlights the game score state when it matches an alert type (15–40, 0–40, 30–40, any break point, deuce, tiebreak)
• Tournament and surface — so you can judge context (breaks are more common on clay; servers hold more on grass and fast hard courts)
• Model win % — the Live Tennis API model's estimate of each player's match-win probability given the current score state

The filter bar

ATP / WTA toggle

Switches the board between all matches, ATP only, or WTA only. If you only trade one tour, set this first — it cuts the noise significantly during busy match windows.

Search

Type a player name to find a specific match. Useful when a single court is your focus and you want to monitor it without the full board load.

Sort

Four options:

• Alerts first — matches currently triggering any score alert float to the top. Default and most useful when scanning across courts.
• Model gap — sorts by the size of the P1 odds vs model gap (requires a P1 decimal to be entered on at least one card).
• A–Z — alphabetical by player 1.
• Updated — most recently scored point at the top.

Click More filters to expand a second row of controls.

Surface

Filter to Clay, Hard or Grass. If you only trade clay-court events (where breaks are most frequent) or only hard-court events (where serve is stronger), this cuts irrelevant matches.

Alerts — show matches at a specific score state

Tap any of the alert chips and the board shows only matches currently at that score. The options are: 0–40, 15–40, 30–40, Any BP (any break point), Deuce, TB (tiebreak).

This is a live filter — if no match is currently at that score, the board will be empty. It updates on each refresh cycle.

Pin — keep alerted matches visible after the score moves

Filtering hides everything that is not currently at the alert score. Pinning is different: it keeps the match card visible and highlighted even after the score moves on.

This is useful when you want to watch what happens after a break point. Example: pin 15–40, the point plays, the score moves to 30–40 or Deuce — the card stays on screen because it triggered earlier. You can watch the game play out without it disappearing mid-sequence.

View options

• Singles — hides doubles matches
• ★ Mine — shows only matches you have starred (tap the star icon on a match card to add it to your watchlist)
• Compact — reduces card size for second-monitor use
• Sound — plays a short beep when a new alert triggers. Useful if you are monitoring other screens.

P1 odds — the model gap field

This is the feature most traders do not notice at first.

On any match card there is a small input field. Paste player 1's current Betfair decimal back price (e.g. 2.10) and the board calculates:

• Betfair implied probability = 1 ÷ decimal odds (e.g. 2.10 → 47.6%)
• Model win % = what the Live Tennis API model gives P1 given the current score state
• Gap = model minus implied — shown in percentage points on the card

A positive gap (model rates P1 higher than the market) can flag where the market may be underrating the favourite. A negative gap suggests the market is already ahead of the model.

Important: this is diagnostic, not a signal. The model is a general win-probability model — it does not know about injuries, form, or the specific match dynamics that an experienced trader watching the same match can read. Second-monitor setup

The most effective use of the board is as a passive second screen alongside your Betfair ladder or trading platform.

1. Open the board in a separate browser window (not a tab)
2. Enable Compact in More filters
3. Resize the window to fit your second monitor — the board is responsive and works at narrow widths
4. Set Sort: Alerts first so active score states float to the top without any action from you
5. Optionally enable Sound so a beep fires when a new alert appears, even if you are focused on your ladder

The board refreshes automatically. You do not need to click Refresh; it is there if you want to force an immediate update.

What the board cannot do

• It does not place bets — it is informational only
• It does not connect to your Betfair account
• It is not a sub-second feed — it polls every 8 seconds. If you need point-by-point WebSocket latency for a bot, you need your own Live Tennis API Ultra key
• It covers ATP and WTA main-draw events. ITF and Challenger coverage depends on the feed
